Mobile bandwidth – problems will continue

Mobile bandwidth – problems will continue. Despite impending roll-outs of LTE, capacity problems in mobile networks will continue.  Compounded by the design and intensity of use of mobile apps – towards HTML5 – will continue to grow bandwidth requirements exponentially. Most of the platforms, Enterprise in particular, are not designed with bandwidth efficiency in mind.  Furthermore, evolving usage habits, subscribers are now interacting—sending/ uploading HD images & video from their wireless devices (smartphones and tablets) -- staying connected with friends and family, device to device, but also in record numbers with social media sites (i.e. Facebook, YouTube).  This dramatic increase in data consumption is overwhelming wireless networks.  This may mean that the natural uptake of social, mobile Apps in the Enterprise may be held back because of this constraint.  Nevertheless, innovation continues and solutions are available, such as Mobile Transmit Diversity (MTB) a beaming forming technology developed by NJ based Magnolia Broadband which has been tried and proven to significantly improve wireless carriers data issues, doubling through put speeds, increasing coverage and capacity by over 40%.  And best of all, Magnolia solutions as cost effective, future proof and legacy system compatible and ready for deploymement.
